How many guests can Toast accommodate?

Toast is perfect for both intimate and large gatherings and can easily host up to 425 people. 

Will there be on-site staff the day of my event? 

Yes! Toast will have staff on site throughout your event to ensure everything related to the venue runs as smoothly as possible. Staff will handle all vendor and guest questions, ensure all spaces (including bathrooms!) are kept clean and manage any other day-of emergencies that arise. Please note that we recommend hiring a dedicated event planner for large events. We are happy to provide references upon request.

Can vehicles be left overnight?

Yes! Toast has plenty of parking for guests to leave vehicles overnight.

Are there overnight accommodations nearby?

Absolutely! While Ankeny has many hotels to choose from, The Residence Inn by Marriott is a one-minute walk across the street from Toast.

FOOD, BEVERAGE & BOOKING QUESTIONS

Does Toast require a Wedding Coordinator or Planner?

While not required, we highly recommend hiring a coordinator for large events. Coordinators will help ensure the entire event runs smoothly and that you are able to truly enjoy it.

What is Toast’s Alcohol Policy?

Toast has its own liquor license so we are able to serve hosted drinks or provide a cash bar that serves mixed drinks, craft beers and a large selection of wines. No outside alcohol is allowed.

Do we have to choose vendors from Toast’s preferred vendor list?

We welcome all florists, event coordinators, decorators and photographers of your choosing to help create the event you’ve always dreamed of. All caterers must be licensed. We have an extensive list of caterers who are approved for our space that we would love to recommend. Any caterers who are not on the list must be approved two months before your event date.

PLANNING QUESTIONS

Am I required to hire a police officer if my event will have alcohol? 

For most events serving alcohol, security personnel is required and will cost an additional $200. Toast also requires that you purchase your own event insurance policy for large events — a small investment that protects you in a number of situations. Wedsure, Wedsafe and Progressive offer affordable policies for event insurance.

Can we add our own decorations to the wedding venue?

Yes, please feel free to transform our space and make it your own! All decor that is brought in must be removed from the space by the end of the event. Rental items must be picked up by the end of your event or arranged for pick-up the following day.

Do we have to set up our own chairs and tables or take them down?

No, we’ll handle that for you! We’ll have you provide us with your seating arrangement and our staff will have everything set up and ready for you.

Do you allow candles?

Yes! All candles must be enclosed in glass, however, to abide by the fire code.

Will we have access to the space(s) all day? What time will we have to be out of Toast?

We understand the day of your event will be busy!  In order to allow ample time for set-up, you will gain access to Toast starting at 9:00 a.m. on the day of your event. Depending on Toast's event schedule, access the day prior may be available.
